I only recently learned that a former coworker and dear friend of mine may very well soon be going into battle against cancer.  I was already aware of some trips that had been made to hospital, but didn’t understand the full scope of what had been going on until I went out for some drinks with some friends who knew more about the situation.

My friend, Heather, celebrated a birthday party tonight (Feb. 11) and invited all her friends over for fun and games.  Having only gone within the last few days for a biopsy of the mass that has turned her life into a bit of a roller coaster, her sense of humor has not been swayed by the stresses of the unknown or many trips to the hospital.  Heather and her wife are two people with an incredible sense of love, family and strength.
